Marvel Rivals Map Guide

Tokyo 2099

A futuristic Neo-Tokyo with vertical cityscapes and narrow alleyways. This map favors mobile heroes and close-range combat.

Key Positions

  • Central Tower: High ground overlooking the payload route. Essential for defenders.
  • Neon Alley: Narrow chokepoint perfect for area-damage heroes like Scarlet Witch.
  • Sky Bridge: Connects both spawns; controlling it gives rotation advantage.

Best Heroes

  • Attack: Spider-Man (vertical mobility), Black Panther (flank routes)
  • Defense: Doctor Strange (portal cuts off rotations), Scarlet Witch (alley control)
💡 Pro Tip

Use Spider-Man's wall-crawl to approach the Central Tower from unexpected angles. Most defenders only watch the main staircase.

Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda

A sprawling palace complex with open courtyards and tight interior corridors. The Season 2 rework added new flank routes.

Key Positions

  • Throne Room: Final objective point with multiple entry points.
  • Vibranium Mines: Underground section with low ceilings — no flying allowed.
  • Royal Balcony: Sniper perch overlooking the courtyard.

Best Heroes

  • Attack: Hulk (breaks through palace walls), Thor (courtyard control)
  • Defense: Groot (vine walls block chokepoints), Luna Snow (ultimate zones Throne Room)

Yggdrasill

The World Tree arena with massive vertical space and destructible branches. Unique mechanic: branches break after taking enough damage, changing map layout mid-match.

Key Positions

  • Tree Crown: Highest point; Iron Man and Thor dominate here.
  • Root Tunnels: Underground paths for flanking.
  • Branch Highway: Main rotation route; breaks under heavy fire.
⚠️ Dynamic Environment

Branches regenerate after 60 seconds, but their destruction can cut off escape routes. Always have a backup plan when fighting on elevated positions.

Hydra Charteris Base

An underground research facility with tight corridors and open labs. Best map for close-quarters specialists.

Key Positions

  • Reactor Core: Central objective with radiation hazards.
  • Ventilation Shafts: Flank routes accessible only to small heroes.
  • Command Center: Elevated position with sightlines to multiple objectives.

General Map Strategies

These principles apply to every map in Marvel Rivals:

  • High ground wins: Always fight from elevated positions when possible. The team controlling high ground has a massive advantage.
  • Destructible environments: Walls and floors can be destroyed. Use this to create new angles or escape routes.
  • Sound cues: Footsteps and ability sounds are loud. Use audio to track enemy positions.
  • Ultimate economy: Don't use ultimates in lost fights. Save them for key objective moments.
  • Rotate as six: Splitting up leads to being picked off. Move as a team unless you're a designated flanker.
